Marc Corsi – CEO, Events By Corsi, Inc.
Marc is an innovative and award-winning marketing professional in the advertising and public relations arena. His success as an out-of-the-box thinker has earned him a reputation for creating the extraordinary.
Over the years Marc has developed strategic working relationships with a Who’s Who list of movers and shakers across a wide spectrum of industries and professions.
Marc’s highly sought expertise has paved the way for everything from board positions at Silicon Valley start-ups to advising major players in the political arena. He has befriended the likes of Senators, Governors, Attorney Generals, and Mayors.
Marc established himself early in his career as an advertising leader. He has the perspective of more than 25 years building regional, national and global campaigns and events. Some of the clients Marc has represented include the Oakland Raiders, the San Francisco Examiner, BART, the De Young Museum, Disney, Hewlett Packard, and Farmers Insurance, to name a few. Marc leverages strategic relationships forged through industry associations and close contact with clients to deliver added value.
Marc was elected Chairman of the Western Region for the American Advertising Federation (AAF), which serves 200 ad clubs and 50,000 members. He served on the Executive Committee and the National Board of Directors for AAF. He is a past member of the Council of Governors and has served as Legislative Director representing California in Washington D.C. He chaired the Northern California ADDY Awards for seven years, building it into one of the most successful awards events in the nation. He has also raised millions of dollars for charities. He is a Founder of the Insurance Industry Charitable Fund, and is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Edgewood’s Hope Ball.
Marc is immediate past Governor of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA), Northern California Council Board. For his efforts, Marc has received special industry recognition including creation of a scholarship in his name by AAF’s Ad Mark; honored with the prestigious AAF Silver Medal Award and the Award of Excellence in Advertising. He has received more than 100 ADDY awards and was named the Ad Mark! California Adman of the Year.
Marc is the current Chief of Protocol for the Golden Gate Yacht Club – the winner of the 34th America’s Cup – and is a frequent keynote speaker on advertising and public relations and Master of Ceremonies for a variety of events. He is currently the chairman of the “LANDSMAN” and “III” of San Francisco, and President of Cal Xi Alumni Association. Marc is the founding partner of the highly successful Pican Restaurant, and is currently the CEO of Communications by Corsi, Interactive by Corsi, and Events by Corsi, all based in San Francisco.
Leslie Blakely – Strategic Partner
A seasoned professional with more than 15 years of experience in the Events and Hospitality industry, Leslie Blakely is able to take any vision – no matter how elaborate – and help make it a reality. An expert in event planning with a passion for on-the-water settings, Blakely is known for her ability to personally guide each client through the process to make the experience as seamless and stress-free as possible. For these reasons, Blakely has proven to be a critical player on the Corsi team.
Blakely’s successful career began shortly after graduating from Fresno State University where she completed an internship at the prestigious Adventures and Seas Yacht Charters in Newport Beach, California. It was there where she first fell in love with planning events on the water. During her stint with the company, Blakely worked on everything from weddings and corporate events to holiday parties and extravagant family celebrations for up to 500 people.
After relocating to Northern California in 2007, Blakely took a position with the San Francisco-based charter yacht company Signature Hospitality, which would expand to include top-tier catered events at high-profile Bay Area venues, such as San Francisco City Hall, SF Moma, the Design Center, and the De Young museum, among others. This is where Leslie’s creativity and passion for grand themes blossomed, as she would be responsible for designing and producing special events for up 2,000 guests.
As she moves forward in her career, she looks to expound on those vast and diverse experiences in her expansive role with Events By Corsi.
Mona McBride – Strategic Partner
As the Founder and President of Cerise Events Group, Mona brings more than 15 years of hands-on expertise in all facets of event planning. She has developed programs for customer retention; customer input in the R&D process, LPGA sponsored golf tournaments, Incentive Programs, User Groups, Board of Directors Meetings, Sales Kick-Off Meetings and Product Launches. Before founding Cerise Events Group, she managed programs at Sybase, Inc. and Pepsi-Cola Company.
She specializes in delivering innovative solutions, dynamic partner relationships, creative technological support, unquestionable fiscal acumen, flawless execution and stellar service through her enduring commitment to ensure that all client objectives are met or exceeded.
Mark Russo – Vice President, Bespoke Experiences
An expert in the luxury sector, Mark has created totally inspiring and one-of-a-kind upscale events and productions, including extravagant affairs for Rolls Royce, Chopard, the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach, Monaco Yacht Show, and more. Mark’s company, Angel’s Share International, creates amazing experiences in food and wine, spirits and lavish travel for those seeking access to the highest levels of custom-made and totally unique experiences.
Sonya Molodetskaya – Vice President, Sales
Originally from Moscow, Russia, Commissioner Sonya Molodetskaya is a skilled veteran of the business community and an ardent activist for human and immigrant rights. A frequenter of numerous high-profile events, Molodetskaya brings a vast and comprehensive skill set in event management and planning consultation. An experienced fundraiser and events planner, Sonya is also involved in the fabric of San Francisco and works for many charitable causes in the region. Sonya graduated from Moscow State University in Civil Engineering, and was appointed to the Immigrant Rights Commission by Mayor Gavin Newsom in 2010.
Steven Podesta – Strategic Partner
Steven comes from a long line of creative designers. He was the third generation to manage Podesta Baldocci Florist – the world’s most-famous florist and special event company. Steve has produced high-profile events in San Francisco and throughout the world. He concentrates on the esthetic experience with masterful orchestration. Steve uses a turnkey approach to execute a creative vision from start to finish. Steve has been commissioned for a wide variety of projects, ranging from movie backdrops to the recreation of Monet’s Gardens – shows which were subsequently nominated for an Emmy Award. Steve has produced shows and events for more than 25 years. His extensive event planning background provides the Corsi team with a critical resource in the production of marquee events such as the America’s Cup.
